We celebrated our first 4th of July at my parent's new lake house, and had a great time. Yes, it was rainy for almost every single day of our trip, but we made the best of it. I grew up spending almost every 4th of July at my grandparent's lake house in Hot Springs, AR, so it's really special to know that we have a place for our children to create some of the same memories that we have. Like playing with cousins, swimming from sun up to sun down (only stopping to eat!), catching fire flies, going for boat and tube rides, drinking "nana-nade" (my family's sickeningly sweet version of lemonade) and eating powdered sugar donuts, watching fireworks, and a million other things. What made this first summer at the lake even better, was my Arkansas family were there to celebrate with us!
